{"id":822,"date":"2026-01-06T05:37:42","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T20:37:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/csw.ist.hokudai.ac.jp\/ieee\/?p=822"},"modified":"2026-01-06T13:25:02","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T04:25:02","slug":"student-branch-networking-workshop-2025-hokkaido","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csw.ist.hokudai.ac.jp\/ieee\/?p=822","title":{"rendered":"Student Branch Networking Workshop 2025 @ Hokkaido"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"overview\">Overview<\/h2>\n<p>The \u201cStudent Branch Networking Workshop 2025 @ Hokkaido\u201d was held over two days on December 18 (Thu) and 19 (Fri), 2025, with the following program.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Organized by:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>IEEE Hokkaido University Student Branch\n<\/li>\n<li>IEEE Muroran Institute of Technology Student Branch\n<\/li>\n<li>IEEE Tohoku University Student Branch\n<\/li>\n<li>IEICE Tohoku University Student Branch\n<\/li>\n<li>IEEE Shin-etsu Section Student Branch\n<\/li>\n<li>IEEE Meiji University Student Branch\n<\/li>\n<li>IEEE Kansai University Student Branch\n<\/li>\n<li>IEEE Kansai Section YP<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Venue<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Large Conference Room 11-17, 11th Floor, Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, Hokkaido University\n<\/li>\n<li>(Access: https:\/\/www.ist.hokudai.ac.jp\/access\/#info)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A total of 18 students and related members from Student Branches (hereafter, SBs) across Japan participated in the workshop.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 id=\"background-and-preparation\">Background and Preparation<\/h2>\n<p>This workshop was held with the aim of strengthening collaboration among SBs and promoting future activities.<\/p>\n<p>The initial idea originated from the <strong>IEEE Student Branch Leadership Training Workshop (SBLTW) 2025<\/strong>, held on Sunday, September 28, 2025.<br \/>\nDuring discussions in the poster session, participants expressed the wish: \u201cWe don\u2019t want the connections formed here to end with this event\u2014let\u2019s collaborate on future events together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>From this conversation, the plan gradually developed into a concrete workshop proposal.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, two online meetings (via Google Meet) were held on October 8 (Wed) and October 15 (Wed), 2025, to discuss in detail the objectives, contents, and structure of the event.<br \/>\nAs a result, it was decided that this workshop would serve as \u201cA place to discuss and materialize future collaborative events and sustainable cooperation frameworks among SBs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all SB members and related parties who supported this event.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 id=\"day-1-december-18-2025-thu\">Day 1 \u2014 December 18, 2025 (Thu)<\/h2>\n<h3 id=\"program\">Program<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>10:00\u201312:00 IEICE Tohoku University SB Activity Report &amp; Event Management Lecture.\u201d<br \/>\nThey shared practical and insightful knowledge, including specific event management strategies, promotional methods, and processes for shaping ideas into actionable projects. This session was highly meaningful for all participants.<\/p>\n<p>After the lunch break, the \u201cStudent Branch Exchange Workshop 2025 @ Hokkaido\u201d officially began at 13:00.<br \/>\nFrom this point onward, the event was moderated by Yuito ISHISAKI, Chair of IEEE Hokkaido University SB.<\/p>\n<p>During the orientation session, participants were divided into three groups (A\/B\/C) to introduce themselves and interact.<\/p>\n<p>Following this, the <strong>Activity Report Presentations<\/strong> were conducted.<br \/>\nRepresentatives from each SB gave 10\u201315 minute presentations to share their activities, features, and current situations. Despite the limited time, lively Q&amp;A sessions followed each presentation, providing a valuable opportunity to deepen mutual understanding.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 id=\"discussion-1\">Discussion 1<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Theme: \u201cLet\u2019s Design Sustainable SB Events!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since SBs are student organizations, frequent leadership transitions are inevitable, and maintaining operational continuity and knowledge transfer can become challenging.
