Introduction of Media Network Course for Freshmen (Sep. 2025)

On Tuesday, September 30th, an introductory session for freshmen was held. Students from our research laboratory also participated as representatives of the Media Network Course. We provided an overview of the course, explained the research laboratory through panel presentations, and demonstrated equipment to the freshmen.
Here shows contents of demonstration exhibit.

  • Real-time display of flight data using Raspberry Pi and software wireless device (aircraft position tracking)
  • Real-time audio feature visualization system based on FPGA and Raspberry Pi
  • Chapit, a voice recognition robot from Raytron

Farewell and First Semester End Party 2025

On Tuesday, July 29, we held a farewell party for Mr. Yamanaka, who is graduating this semester, along with first semester end party.
We wish Mr. Yamanaka continued success in their future endeavors!

We held our annual Jingisukan (BBQ) party on June 17th!

2025 Farewell party

On Monday, March 24th, we held a farewell party for M2 students graduating this academic year (Tanaka, Saito, Hirai).

Welcome Party for New Members 2024

On Tuesday, November 19, we held a welcome party for three third-year students who recently joined our laboratory: Ando, Kawashima, and Matsumura.

2024 Joint Convention, the Hokkaido Chapters of the Institutes of Electrical and Information Engineers

Mr. Tanaka, and Mr. Saito presented their works at 2024 Joint Convention, the Hokkaido Chapters of the Institutes of Electrical and Information Engineers, which was held at Hokkaido University on Nov 2nd-3rd.

A student networking event was held during this convention. Students made presentations about their university, research activity, and student activity. From our laboratory, Mr. Saito, the Chair of IEEE Hokkaido University Student Branch, served as the MC, and Mr. Ishizaki, the Treasurer, gave a presentation on the activities of the IEEE Student Branch and the benefits of establishing a branch.

Lab orientation/tour for 3rd-year undergraduate students, 2024

We will conduct a laboratory orientation for third-year undergraduate students as per the following schedule:

  • Location: 11-12, IST Building 11th floor
  • Date and Time: Oct 18 (Fri) at 13:00-, 14:00-
    (Please try to join us at an earlier time if possible. We may not conduct the session after 14:00 if there are no participants.)

Visits (tours) to the lab are also possible. The available time slots are as follows:

  • Location: ICN Lab., IST Building 11th floor
  • Date and Time: Students will definitely be available during the following hours.
    (For Wednesdays and Thursdays, please refrain from visiting before the end of the experiment; School of Engineering Timetable)

    • Oct 16 (Wed) after the end of the experiment, until 18:00
    • Oct 17 (Thu) after the end of the experiment, until 18:00
    • Oct 21 (Mon) 16:30-18:00
