Assoc Prof Tsutsui made a presentation entitled “Design Techniques for Wireless Communication and Image Processing IP Cores” at the 1st Hokkaido Young Professionals Workshop held at Muroran Institute of Technology. This workshop was organized by the IEEE Sapporo Section Young Professionals Affinity Group, which was established on Mar 20, 2020. In this workshop, held in a face-to-face style and online, Student Presentation Contest was also held.

2021 International Workshop on Smart Info-Media Systems in Asia (SISA 2021)
Suzuki (M2) and Kato (M1) made presentations on the research results at SISA 2021, held on 9/20-22. SISA 2021 was held online due to the COVID-19 situation, and Associate Professor Tsutsui served as the general chair. SISA 2022 will be held on 9/15-16 in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.

Yoshikazu Miyanaga was awarded the title of Professor Emeritus
Professor Yoshikazu Miyanaga moved to Chitose Institute of Science and Technology, and Professor Takeo Ohgane was appointed as a professor of our Laboratory. Also, Professor Yoshikazu Miyanaga was awarded the title of Professor Emeritus.
Introduction of Our Course for Freshmen (Feb. 2019)
On February 6 (Thu), we introduced to the first-grade laboratory of information communication network as one research room of media network course.
The number of students who visited this year was 136, more students than last year.
We were able to convey the interest of studying and research in the media network course.

Two M1 students were ready to make presentations at the IEICE General Conference scheduled to be held at Hiroshima University as follows. However, the IEICE General Conference has been canceled due to COVID-19. Proceedings of the 2020 IEICE General Conference was issued on March 3.
